Ongoing Courses of Study

Preschool Rhythmics

The Ron-Shulamit Pre-school Department offers a variety of activities designed to introduce young children, girls and boys from age four to six, to the joys of music through movement, song, and hands-on experience with simple rhythmic instruments.

Instrumental Music Department

The Ron-Shulamit Instrumental Department - in both the Har Nof and Beit Hakerem branches - offers weekly lessons in musical instruments including: piano, violin, viola, cello, guitar, oboe, flute, recorder, clarinet, voice, accordion, as well as in electronic instruments. Music theory and history classes round out the curriculum. In addition, qualified students may participate in the conservatory's chamber music programs, orchestras, and choirs. Throughout the year, Ron-Shulamit gives its students opportunities to perform in a variety of venues including Open House Concerts, End of Year concerts, Gala performances, and a variety of performances for the community.

Department of Dance

Ron-Shulamit offers girls, age six and up, both classic ballet and modern dance instruction. Our dancers perform in a variety of venues, including recitals, classical and modern dance groups, and in our annual series exclusively for women audiences “Fairy Tales Through Dance”. We are proud to report that several graduates of the Ron-Shulamit Dance Department have themselves become dance instructors.

Bachelor of Education in Instrumental Music

Ron-Shulamit's Higher Education Department, in cooperation with the Levinsky Teachers' College in Tel Aviv, offers a three-year course of study for young orthodox women that awards a B.Ed. degree, recognized by the Israeli Institute of Higher Education as well as the Thomas Edison College in the US. This is the only program in Israel to offer a university degree in a setting appropriate for ultra-orthodox women and differs from the other programs for religious women that award a teaching certificate in music education. The Ron Shulamit-Levinsky College program trains musicians in specific musical instruments, as well as providing them a background in music theory, music history, movement, and choir.
